The
Workers' Compensation Commission UniversityTM

11 @ 6:00 p.m. in the Charleston Civic Center. The
university opening begins at 8:30 a.m. on May 12 in the
Civic Center with hands-on learning courses that continue
until 3:15 p.m. I want to encourage all employers, small
business owners and medical professionals to attend these
key sessions on workers' compensation issues in our state.
Not only will you have the opportunity to learn about the
workers' compensation system, but also you will meet service
providers who specialize in workers' compensation
management, while earning continuing education units (CEUs).
The
agenda includes breakout sessions that allow you to choose
the topics that best meet your needs, as well as group
presentations and a panel discussion. University topics will
cover workplace safety, claims management, appeals, employer
audits, self-insurance, controlling costs, fraud and abuse,
and developing a preferred provider organization.
To
make our University as friendly as possible we have created
this website to inform you about the Workers' Compensation
Commission UniversityTM as well as to to keep you
informed about the University and how it can help improve
your knowledge of how workers' compensation is changing to
help you. There are links across the top and bottom of this
page to take you to specific areas of our University
program. Those links allow you to register as either a
participant or an exhibitor and to see details of the
specialized breakout sessions you can select to attend. We
have also placed links at the bottom of this page to help
you with travel directions and general information about the
Charleston area.
Registration
is open to anyone who wants to know more about West
Virginia's workers' compensation system. The fee is $50 per
